CommunityWide FoodBank started on August 11, 2022 at 78 Adeniyi Jones Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos to be part of the solution to reduce hunger. We are personate about the UN Sustainable Development Goals No: 1-No Poverty, No:2-Zero Hunger and No:3 Good Health & Well-Being. We provide free food to children, windows, widowers, single parents and the elderly age 60 year and above.
Food banks have a long history dating back to the 1960s when they were first established in the United States to address poverty and food insecurity. Since then, food banks have become an integral part of the social safety net, providing essential support to individuals and families who are struggling to put food on the table.
The mission of our food bank is to “reduce hunger and food insecurity for the children, elderly, individuals with disabilities, and everyone who is hungry.” We work to address the root causes of hunger, such as poverty and unemployment, while also providing short-term assistance to those who are struggling to put food on the table.
Overall, the vision of CommunityWide FoodBank is to ensure that everyone in the community has access to the food they need to live a healthy and productive life, regardless of their income or circumstances.
